Location & Elevation: Perched on the panoramic shoulder of the Mau Escarpment along the Eburru Range at an altitude of 7,000 feet (2,130 meters) above sea level. It is a comfortable, scenic 90-minute drive (approximately 90 km) from downtown Nairobi.
Championship Design: Opened in 1999/2000, this par-71 course extends across a sprawling, remarkably flat plateau on the slopes of a dormant volcano. The layout measures 6,580 yards from the standard tees and stretches up to 7,107 yards for professional play.
Turf & USGA Standards: Features heavily contoured greens built precisely to USGA specifications using premium “Tiffgreen” grass. Fairways and the three distinct teeing positions are planted with indigenous Kikuyu grass, maintaining a lush, vibrant green texture year-round.
Hazards & Features: The course layout is heavily bunkered and integrated with five strategic water features, creating both an exciting challenge for low handicappers and an enjoyable day for leisure golfers.
The Signature 17th Hole: Home to one of the longest and most famous holes in East Africa—a monstrous par-5 measuring 598 meters (654 yards) that tests both power and precision.
Climate & Playability: The high-altitude air remains fresh with daily temperatures averaging between 16°C and 34°C. Since local rainfall predominantly occurs during the night, the course is operational for 12 hours of daylight every single day of the year.
